The initial settlement of release can open the way for de-escalation: India in East Ladakh

New Delhi: India on Thursday confirmed that only the settlement of early transfer in the remaining friction point in East Ladakh could pave the way for Indian and Chinese forces to consider de-escalation and ensuring a recovery full of peace and tranquility in the border area.
In the media briefing, spokesman for the external affairs of Arinindam Bagchi said such a move could allow progress in bilateral relations between the two countries.
“I want to repeat that only the settlement of the initial release in the remaining regions can pave the way for both parties to consider de-escalation of strength and ensuring a recovery full of peace and tranquility and allowing the progress of bilateral relations as a whole,” he said.
India and China held a virtual meeting of work mechanisms for consultation and coordination (WMCC) on border matters last month as part of the dialogue process to complete the deadlock.
In the meeting, both parties agreed to hold the next military talks on the initial date to achieve the purpose of the full release in the remaining friction point in East Ladakh.
“You will remember that the 22nd meeting of the employment mechanism for consultation and coordination (WMCC) on the border was held on June 25.
Both parties also agreed to hold the 12th round of senior commander meetings on the start date.
We will definitely share updates Whatever after we have it, “Bagchi said.
The 11th round of the Corps commander’s talk between the two parties in the border line was held on April 9 and China was locked in a military deadlock at several friction points in the East Ladakh since the beginning of May last year.
However, both parties completed the withdrawal of troops and weapons from the North and South Bank of Lake Pangong in February after a series of military and diplomatic talks.
Both parties are now involved in the conversation to extend the release process to the remaining friction point.
There was no advanced movement seen in the release of troops at the remaining friction point because the Chinese did not show flexibility in their approach above the 11th round of military talks.
Last month, the head of the Naravane MM Gen Army said that there was no escalation without total release at all friction points in East Ladakh and that Indian soldiers were prepared for all possibilities in the region.
The Naravane Gen also said that India deals with China in a “strict” and “non-escalalatory” way to ensure the sanctity of the claim in East Ladakh and even open to start the trust development measures.
India has insisted on the complete release in the remaining friction pount to remove the situation in East Ladakh.
