The initial wine harvest starts at Satana Taluka Nashik

Nashik: The initial harvest of wine has begun in the taluka wine carefer belt in Nashik district.
At present, around 150 tons of wine are harvested per day on average and sent to North India.
In addition, wine is also exported to Russia from here.
Usually, ordinary wine harvest season in Nashik district starts from the second half of January.
It peaked in February and March, and ended in April.
Instead, the initial wine harvest began in November and ended at the end of December at Satana Taluka from this district.
The initial wine harvest took place at 6,000 hectares of a total of 2 lakh acres under wineries in this district.
“The initial grape season has begun in Satanana and the nearest area and will continue until the end of December during the regular wine harvest season,” Patil Manik, a senior office of Maharashtra Rajya Draksha Sangh, Said.
Farmers have said that they take good prices this season in both exports and domestic markets.
Khanderao Shevale, a wine farmer who planted wine at 70 acre land in Satana, said farmers had to spend a big loss in the last wine season because rainfall was not season.
“But there is no damage to the vineyards this time and the early wine harvest season is in full swing.
We also get a good price in the international and domestic market.
We get a price of Rs 100 per kg in the domestic market this year, with a price between Rs 70 and Rs 80 per kg last year, “he said.
“We also export wine to Russia where we get Rs 110 per kg this year, against Rs 80 per kg last year,” he added.
