Ahmedabad: The couple from Shivkrupa residence rushed to LG hospital after the lift cable went bankrupt and they went down on the ground floor of the fifth floor.
Both are struggling for their lives.
The couple has been identified as Rakesh Rajput (45) and his wife Seema (40).
The incident took place at night when they went to shop.
The police said that according to eyewitnesses, several buttons were pressed and pounded and the elevator almost began to move and in the second time it dropped on the ground floor.
They received several injuries and rushed to LG hospital.
H V Sisara, Police Inspector Vatva said: “The main information states that the broken wire cable results in an incident”.
He said that the police were at LG Hospital to take complaints.
The couple lived with their two daughters.
Rakesh has a disposable item shop in the area.
Harshad Patel, a social worker said: “This is the second incident in the area.
Previously, exactly a month ago in December a 24-year-old young man had died during treatment after he fell from the second floor of the Sharnam IV apartment in the Khokhara area.” He said that this flat was also built in the last five years.
This incident once again raised the question about an elevator inspection because the two incidents were in a relatively new building.
