New Delhi: Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, on Thursday claimed that the Minister of Home Amit Shah had been “misled” Lok Sabha when he said that security forces had opened fire on civilians in Nagaland after they tried to escape.
He also said that the congressional delegation on a visit to Nagaland stopped at Jorhat by district officials.
“Inside the building, the interior minister has given a misleading statement when he said the dead people had tried to escape after hinting to stop,” Chowdhury said at Lok Sabha during Zero Hour.
“People who have been hospitalized said in direct ‘directise’.
This means they have been shot directly, “he said.
Chowdhury said the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi was a delegation consisting of members of Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi and Anto Antony visited the village of Mon in Nagaland and shared the sadness of the local population whose family members were killed in a shootout with security forces.

The Union of State Minister for Parliament Arjun Ram Meghwal said the problems raised by Chowdhury were classified as state government and not Lok Sabha.
On Monday, the Interior Minister has expressed regret for the death of 14 civilians in the Mon Nagaland district in three consecutive episodes of shooting by security forces, the first is the case of identity errors.
Telling the sequence of events, Shah told Lok Sabha on Monday that the Army had received information about the rebel movements in Mon and ’21 commando ‘units had put an ambush.
