The Japanese Parliament will formally choose Fumio Kishida as a new PM

Tokyo: Japanese Cabinet and leader Yoshihide Suga resigned on Monday, opening the way for Parliament to choose Fumio Kishida as the new prime minister, who will be able to quickly handle pandemic and security challenges before the national election.
Kishida replaced Suga as the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party in power last week and would definitely win the parliamentary election for the prime minister Monday because of his party and his coalition partner controlled the two houses.
He and his cabinet will then be sworn at the palace ceremony, replacing Suga.
Suga went after only one year in the office after seeing his support plunging about the handling of the government from the pandemic and pressure on holding the Olympics as a spreading virus.
A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kishida, 64, formerly known as a moderate dovish but it turned out that Hawkish seemed to win over influential conservatives in the party.
He strongly entrenched in conservative establishments and his victory in party selection is the choice for continuity and stability over change.
All but two of the 20 cabinet posts below Suga will be replaced, 13 they are appointed to post the minister for the first time, Japanese media reported.
Most of the post went to a strong faction who chose Kishida in party elections.
Only three women reportedly were included, up from two in the Suga government.
Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi must be maintained, ensuring the continuity of Japanese diplomacy and security policies when the country strives to work with Washington under the bilateral security agreement in facing China’s increase and tension in the region, including around Taiwan.
Kishida supports stronger Japanese-u.
Security bonds and partnerships with other similar democracy in Asia, Europe and the United Kingdom, are partly against China and North Korea armed nuclear.
