JAMSHEDPUR: The Organizing Committee of Puja 350-Plus Durga from the City of Steel has urged the state government to issue guidelines for the earliest puash.
With only a month left for the most famous festival in the industrial city, the Puja Committee said the delay in the announcement of the guideline would create confusion among the committee.
“Due to the delay of the announcement of the guidelines during the first wave of Covid pandemic there was a lot of confusion between the Puja Committee, especially those related to idols and pandals because this component needed preparation time.
Therefore, we appeal to the government for a little more sympathetic this year,” CN said Banerjee, President Kendriya Durga Puja Samiti, (KDPS), which is a peak body of more than 350 committees.
He said amendments who often on guidelines also added uncertainty in the celebration last year.
Therefore, the Puja Committee expects guidelines prepared with a broader interpreter consultation to avoid the scope of repeated changes.
Significantly, unlike the previous year, vocal puja organizers emphasized permission for conventional methods performing rituals in the pandal, each three days, Mahasaptami, Mahashtami and Mahanvami, respectively.
In addition, the organizers also look for permits for Dhakis, the sound system and distribution of Bhog in total compliance with social blasphemy norms.
“Pushpanjali and Sindoor Khela are an integral and important part of the Durgatsava celebration, the government must recognize this while preparing the draft guidelines,” Banerjee said.
The North Zone Durga Puja official Committee Anjan Sarkar said instructions last year related to the ceiling on the number of people in pujas did not go down with the committee.
“It’s practically it’s impossible to do rituals with just four or five people.
The government should not limit the number to seven like last year,” he insisted.
Furthermore, the instructions of 2020 to cover a pandal from almost four sides to minimize the crowd were also unacceptable by the Puja Committee.
“We cannot accept the fact that people will leave without Darshan God,” said the leading Puja Committee member, requested anonymity.
The KDPS delegation met the Minister of Health Banna Gupta here on Sunday and urged him to issue guidelines as early as possible.
Previously, on September 3, the KDPS delegation gave a representation to the Head of Secretary of Sukhdeo Singh in this matter.
