Udupi: Minister of Energy, Kannada and Culture V Sunil Kumar, who set the trend only accepted books, especially in Kannada, and not a bouquet of flowers from sympathizers, showing off a collection of more than 3,500 books on Thursday.
The minister has collected books worth more than Rs 6 lakh from good party workers and sympathizers after he asked them not to hold a criminal program to be appointed as minister.
The book exhibition was held at the Vikasa Office of Jana Seva, the Minister’s Office in Karkala.
In the coming days, books that have registered category-wise will be submitted to the Public Library.
Symbolically, books are handed over to representatives of five grams of Panchayats and private universities.
The exhibition will be held until Sunday.

The source of the ministerial office said that the Bengaluru Sunil Kumar office had more than 300 books received by the minister as a gift.
These books will also be taken to Karkala.
Sunil Kumar also received more than 100 English novels.
Among the books received, Kannada novels, historical books, and top biographies lists.
