Letter: Health Officer of the Municipal Corporation (SMC) letter ordered the Gajera Vidhyabhavan in Katargam to remain closed for two days after the school was found to not hold on to Covid-19 guidelines including maintaining social distance on Wednesday.
Health officials also found that the school was doing classes for class VIII even when the government allowed offline education only to class IX to XII.
Video violations became viral after where health officials visited school and asked him to remain closed.
On Wednesday, together with the health team, parents from several students also reached the school to question the authorities why it did not follow the social distance guidelines.
“Health officials know about violations of social distance norms from viral videos after that inspection is carried out.
Class VIII students are also found in schools where the government has not given permission,” said a health official.
It should be noted that the Vidhyabhavan Gajera was run by the Dhiru Gajera family, a senior politician who recently returned to BJP after 14 years.
After the quick test at Shree Sharda Vidhya Mandir on Wednesday, the health team found two class XII students who tested positive Covid-19.
The SMC team conducted tests on other students but they were negative.
RT-PCR test students and their family members will also be carried out, said the source.
Until now, 18,621 students from 337 schools, colleges and lecture classes were tested, where three school students were found positive.
Class IX students who tested positive on Tuesday at the Prathmik Samiti Nagar School (NPSS) at Limbayat were found negative in the RT-PCR test on Wednesday.
Students and family members are considered as suspicion of patients and have been ordered to live in quarantine.
“Our strategy conducts tests in schools proven successful.
By identifying students at the initial stage we can isolate them and prevent the spread of infection,” added the official.
