ThiruvananThapuram: The latest decision of the state government to impose the condition of citizens to visit shops and commercial companies causes the attitude between the government and opposition to the assembly on Friday.
The opposition leader V D Sathean accused that while on the one hand the government claims to bring more relaxation, on the other hand, it enforces more impractical regulations in public.
He said that only 41.14% of residents who used even one dose vaccine meant that the remaining 57.86% had to undergo a RT-PCR test even to visit environmental stores.
The government has recommended Reverse Quarantine for those with over 60 years, but because they are the majority that utilize vaccines, it is the same population that must come out, while those under 45 years must sit at home, Satheani said.
The opposition leader slammed that the police, meanwhile, enjoyed uncontrolled power on behalf of enforcing this illogical rule.
He said that thousands of police cruelty complaints flowed from all corners of the country.
“This is the Raj Police applicable in the state and the government has brought the police back to 50 years when people were afraid of the police to close themselves in their homes at their view,” he said.
Iuml leader M K Muneer said that the government had to be careful to see that the disaster management department (that issuing orders on Covid-19 restrictions) itself did not become another disaster.
“Once, for someone who has not been vaccinated, to go to his office, must undergo at least 10 RT-PCR tests in a month, which will cost at least Rs 6,000.
Also, no hospital will issue a certificate that someone has been infected from Covid-19 has recovered and suitable to come out, “said Muneer.
He said that the Expert Committee, which imposes such rules, must apply the mind while framing the rule.
Previously, replied to MLA K Babu, who was seeking leave for delays in this issue, Health Minister Veena George defended that the government had found limitations to ensure the safety of life and people’s property and when the restrictions were overcome, the police had the responsibility to regulate.
The minister said that within a few days, the number of people infected with Covid-19 can duplicate, and the third wave is also expected.
He said that opposition and public must cooperate with the government.
The opposition also shows that the minister’s chairman is a person who must answer this problem because leave for the delay movement is issued for the ministerial head because he is responsible for the police.
The opposition then held a walkout after speaker M B Rajesh refused to recognize the movement of delays on the basis of the reply from the Minister of Health.
