Thiruvananthapuram: The Cooperation Department will strengthen the law by making a suitable amendment to overcome irregularities and corruption in the cooperation sector, Cooperation Minister V N Vasavan said in a statement here.
The decision was taken after the incident of illegal activities in this sector, including the latest fraudulent bank cooperative bank fraud.
The cooperation department has decided to register criminal cases against those involved in financial fraud, fruit fraud, loan fraud and fraud related to gold guarantee, after conducting a preliminary investigation.
The cooperation law will be amended to include parts, where the characteristics of the defendant will be frozen.
The department has decided to recommend this suggestion to the committee that has been formed for re-improving the comprehensive cooperation law.
The committee will submit the concept of amendment within two months.
The minister said that the cooperative community registrants had been asked to carry out a quick search in all cooperative communities in the state and take quick action if there was a disturbance.
He said that in the case of bank karuvannurs, actions will be taken against all officials who according to the government committee have been responsible.
Dislike and concerns from all bank investors will be tried and the revival package will be designed by the Administrative Committee of three members appointed by the department to be delivered for government approval in three weeks.
The strength of cooperatives will be strengthened and section 65 and 66 of the actions of cooperation will be amended so that criminal cases can be reported immediately to the police and alertness.
The law will also be amended where the vigilance of cooperation will be empowered to conduct a search for suo-motu in the cooperation community.
All people who have working capital of more than RS 250 Crore will be beaten as a unit and the audit team consisting of three members will check the accounts of the body.
Transfer of department officials will be based on clear guidelines, all officials working based on job arrangements will be sent immediately to the district.
The department has also decided to float offers for integrated software for the earliest primary cooperative communities, and an official who is not under the rank of the Deputy General Accountant will be appointed as an audit director in the department of the department.
The minister urges that the public must advance against efforts by the section to soul sector cooperation which is a parallel financial residence of ordinary citizens.
