The Kremlin did not expect ‘breakthroughs’ from Biden-Putin talks

Moscow: The Kremlin said Monday on the night of the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his colleague As Joe Biden that Moscow did not expect “breakthroughs”, because tensions rise to Ukraine.
Both leaders are expected to discuss various problems on Tuesday at night Russia with a secure video link, after weeks Washington accused Moscow to plan an invasion in the former Soviet Ukraine.
“It’s hard to expect a breakthrough from talks,” said Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, according to Russian news agencies.
“Therefore, let’s at least hope the leaders will be able to convey their fears with each other,” he said.
“Even though our bilateral relations are still in a very sad state, there are still revival, dialogue begins in several regions.” Washington and Kiev said Russia had grown tens of thousands of troops near the Ukrainian border and could launch the invasion next month.
Ahead of Tuesday’s talk, the White House said Biden would underline Washington’s concern with Russian military activities on the border.
Russia denied the allegations and said it was worried about what he said was Ukrainian mobilization which numbered half of its troops near two regions in the eastern country held by pro-Moscow.
Kiev and his Western allies accused Moscow to send weapons and troops to support the rebels, which seized the region in 2014 shortly after Russia annexed the Crimea from Ukraine from Ukraine.
Very boiling conflicts have claimed more than 13,000 people.
