Moscow: Kremlin on Friday congratulated Dmitry Muratov, an editor and journalist, to win the Nobel Peace Prize despite the fact that the Novaya Gazeta newspaper often criticized Russian authorities.
Muratov is one of two journalists who will be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, which this year respects the right to freedom of speech which is said to be a gift committee under threat throughout the world.
“We can congratulate Dmitry Muratov,” said Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“He constantly worked according to his own ideals, he was devoted to them, he was talented, he was brave,” Peskov said.
