Coimbatore: The lack of trash cans on the streets walking along the Rotatorkulamp and Ukkadam Lake forced visitors to dispose of waste in open space.
Coimbatore City Corporation has developed piyakulam ukkadam at a cost of Rs 62.17 Crore and Lake Valankulam with a cost of RS 24.31 Crore under Smart City Scheme.

Some emergency restaurants arranged along the lake sell snacks to visitors.

Farahh Nisha of Gandhipuram, who visited Ukkadam Piyakulam with his family, said he could not find a trash can there.
