Frankfurt: The last German civil aircraft carrying Afghanistan escaped from Taliban rules landed in Frankfurt on Friday, the day after the country’s armed forces said they had completed their evacuation operations at Kabul Airport.
The last German military aircraft carrying German soldiers and civilians and Afghanistan left Kabul for Tashkent on Thursday.
A Afghan student who was on the next flight to Germany from Uzbekistan said he had never wanted to return to his homeland after seeing his desperately sleeping outside Kabul airport for days.
“The last few days are very burdensome,” said the 28-year-old child.
“People have spent the night near the airport for days to get the chance to approach the entrance and then go inside somehow.
It’s very difficult for us and when you see the people there, it’s hard to take.” Germany said it has received guarantees from the Taliban that Afghanistan with legal documents will be able to travel with commercial flights outside August 31, when the last NATO forces will leave the country.
