LOS ANGELES: The latest in a series of US satellites that have recorded human impacts and natural on the surface of the earth for decades was launched into Orbit from California on Monday to ensure sustainable observations in the era of climate change.
Landsat 9 was taken to space in Angkasa Atlas ATLAS ATLAS ATLAS which was appointed from the Vandenberg Foggy room force at 11:12 am.
Satellite separation from the top stage of the rocket is expected in the afternoon.
A NASA and US Geological Survey Project, Landsat 9 will work together with the predecessor, Landsat 8, to extend the land record and observations of nearly 50 years of coastal areas that began with the launch of the first Landsat in 1972.
Landsat 9 will take Landsat orbital tracks 7, which will be disabled.
