The launch of the iris gives new hope, satisfaction does something for the most vulnerable countries: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with British partners Boris Johnson, on Tuesday launched infrastructure for Tangguh island initiatives (Iris) to develop infrastructure of small island countries.
Speaking at the launch of the iris in the 26th session of the Party Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Modi said, “This initiative provides new hope, new beliefs and satisfaction doing something for the most vulnerable countries”.
The prime minister shows that the developing countries of small islands are the most threatened with climate change.
“For them, this is a matter of life and death, the challenge of their existence.
Disasters because climate change can be destruction for them.
It is not just a challenge for their lives but also for their economy,” he said.
“The last few decades have proven that no one is not touched by the effects of climate change.
Whether developing a country or country that is rich in natural resources.
This is a big threat,” added PM Modi.
In an effort to develop the infrastructure of small island nations, said Modi, Indian space research organization (ISRO) will build a special data window for them to give them on time on cyclones, monitoring coral reefs, coastline monitoring etc.

The launch, which is part of the Indian-British coalition for the Tanggal Disaster Infrastructure (CDRI), marks the beginning of the second day of the world leader summit.
Iris is basically part of the coalition for the Tanggal disaster infrastructure that will focus on building capacity, having a pilot project, especially in developing small islands which will also involve in several senses, regulate norms and standards for strong infrastructure.
PM Modi reaches Glasgow on Sundays to participate in the COP26 summit.
COP26 is underway under the British presidency partnering with Italy.
The COP26 high level segment titled The World Leaders’ Summit (WLS) and Summit has participation by the head of state / government more than 120 countries.
The prime minister was in a two-day visit to participate in the event.
