PANAJI: Goa Tourism Plan to introduce Amah services will take more time to realize since the three-month extension has been given to service providers to submit detailed project reports.
After a re-tender for “Introduction, Operation and Management of Coastal Pairs of Pairs in Goa,” Mauryan Water Service Service Ltd., was chosen in July.
This extension is given at the request of service providers and decisions taken at the last council meeting of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC).
A successful bidder must comply with certain conditions within 45 days from the date of receipt of the award letter.
Considering that it is a challenging task for service providers to obtain permission from various authorities, the request of the service provider is accepted.
GTDC has drifted the idea of ​​launching amphibious aircraft services about five years ago, when it introduced several new tourism services in the state to raise potential goals.
In 2015, it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Maritime Energy Heli Services Pvt Ltd (Mehair) to launch a plane service Amah.
The route is completed and the test flight lands in Mandovi.
This service will be launched in the following season, but the GTDC plan is disrupted because the service provider has several internal problems and fails to hold on to the deadline for starting service, the official said.
He said they were sure to launch new services at least in the following season, if everything went well.
“Our biggest worries are objections that are not reasonable by certain people and activists, even where environmental pollution questions do not appear.
If we succeed in having seasSel services, it will be a great added value in attracting the attention of quality tourists,” he said.
The officer said at least until now, they had not found a serious opposition to their plans to have amah services, but they were careful.
