Ranchi: Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren on Monday inaugurated the Grid 212/33 KV substation in Bhagodih in Garhwa District.
Substation will end the dependence of the district decades in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for power.
The district attracted its strength so far from Sonebhadra and Rihand on the transmission path, was established during the united Bihar Days.
Bhagodih Grid Substation has been built at a cost of 26.74 crore and will begin receiving direct power from the Power Grid Corporation of India Grid in Palamu.
No dependence on the power of neighboring countries will also eliminate with frequent power cuts and low voltage in Garhwa and Palamu districts.
Soren also virtually placed the stones of the foundation from the 132/33 KV grid substation at Bhawawaathpur, UNTARI Nagar in Garhwa and Grid Sub-Station 132/33 KV in Chhatarpur in Palamu.
Substations of twin networks will ensure quality equipment to Garhwa and Palamu districts.
“The cost of the twin project has been set around Rs 90 Crore.
General Electric Company is executing these twin projects and is expected that the work will be completely completed in the next 24 months,” said Energy Secretary Avinash Kumar.
Soren admitted that Palamu’s residents and Garhwa had faced twin problems from acute drinking water and the power crisis over the past few decades.
“Both Garhwa and Palamu fell in the rainy area of the country’s rain.
Even during the rainy season the rainy season, the rivers and lakes from these two districts, most of which are still dry.
