Chandigarh: Shiroman Akali Dal (SED) President Sukhbir Singh Badal clarified on Friday that there was no chance for his party again forging an alliance with BJP in Punjab despite the three controversial agricultural laws.
Sukhbir, MP Ferozepur, said he had warned PM Modi that farmers would not approve such laws and that the center should not make drastic decisions.
“Now, 700 farmers lose their lives in protests and what is said to have come true,” he said.
MP sad from Bathinda Harsimrat Kaur Badal has resigned as Minister of Union on September 17 last year and the party ended the Alliance with BJP in Punjab nine days later, on September 26.
The party has been on June 12 announcing a decision with BSP in Punjab for the assembly poll next year.
Sad will oppose 97 seats and BS assembly 117 members.
Sad Patriarch and five times the CM Parkash Singh Badal describes the withdrawal of law as “decisive moments in history”.
Referring to the death of farmers in protest, he said Lakhimpur Kheri “remains a blot on the face of this government”.
