The level of Gurgaon’s pollution is ‘severe’ for the second day in a row

Gurgaon: thick smog blankets continue to swallow the city as an average air quality index (AQI) on several monitoring stations recorded in the ‘severe’ category for the second consecutive day on Saturday.
Air quality, however, is increased slightly due to higher wind speeds and is expected to be more annoying pollutants from Sunday and weather experts.
According to the Central Pollution Control Agency (CPCB), the City Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 456 on Saturday.
Because of exploding crackers in Diwali on Thursday even though there were limitations, coupled with the increase in the incidence of propellers, the city AQI had slipped into the ‘severe’ category to reach 472 on Friday.
Aqi between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’.
On Saturday, Sadan Vikas, Sector Air Monitoring Station 51 and Teri Gram recorded AQIS respectively at 492, 499 and 419.
The statistics for the Gwal Pahian Center were not available because of inadequate data.
However, the state pollution control board Haryana (HSPCB), estimates that pollutants will clean the city air because wind speed has increased since Saturday night.
On Saturday, the average speed was recorded with six kilometers per hour (km / h), up from three km / hours a day ago.
In addition to quiet winds, unfavorable weather conditions such as low temperatures and low mixing high have also reduced city air quality over the past few days, experts said.
According to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), the minimum gurgaon temperature is recorded at 16 degrees Celsius and a maximum at 26.2 degrees on Saturday.
Anumite Roychowdhury, Executive Director, Research and Advocacy in CSE, Meanwhile, told TI that the bean barrels had also added to the air pollution of gurgaon.
“We do not have any mechanism to check the contribution of the share of stump propellers in gurgaon air quality, but of course it affects the district AQI because we have data that clearly affects Delhi air,” Roychowdhury said.
Civil authority, meanwhile, said they had raised pollution mitigation measures by sprinkling water on the road and continuing the night patrol.
“We urge the company and Rwa to begin sprinkling water across Gurgaon,” said Kuldeep Singh, said HSPCB regional officers.
Delhi air quality can also see an increase, with the IMD forecast a strong surface wind at 20-30 kmps on Sunday.
Air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar), pollution monitoring bodies under the Ministry of Earth, said, “Aqi Delhi is likely to increase to the end of the ‘very poor’ category because the surface wind becomes stronger, spreading air pollutants.
The strong northwest increases the transportation of emissions from burning stumps.
The share of emissions burning plant residue in PM2.5 is 41% (effective fire resistant 5,159).
“CPCB center control space data shows that the average concentration is 24 hours and PM2.5 Delhi- NCR is 429 micrograms per cubic meter and 298 micrograms per cubic meter, at 19:00.
