Bengaluru: The positive rate of an average test of seven days (TPR) on October 13 has dropped below 1% throughout Karnataka, data from the Covid-19 war room shown.
TPR has fallen under 1% even in districts such as Mysuru, Hassan and Uttara Kannada, where cases soared over the past few weeks before gradually decreasing.
The positive level of the country average test (TPR) is slightly less than 0.4%.
“We are proud that all districts have recorded TPR under 1%,” Kudhakar said, Minister of Health and Medicine Education, he said the government had worked hard towards the end, and that it was very pleasant when it happened on the occasion of Vijaya Dasami / Dasara.
“Around 11 districts have TPR above the country’s average, with Mysuru becomes the highest 0.9%.
This might be due to the Dasara celebration,” Sudhakar said.
“However, we are ready and we have taken adequate steps.
The nineteen other districts have TPRs that are below the country’s average.
We are also proud that around six districts have reached zero or close to zero TPR.” Hatred Room data Shows that on October 13, Yadgir has zero TPR, while the rate in Bagalkot, Haveri, Gadag, Kalaburagi and Koppal approaches zero.
But the Minister warns: “We are not protected until everyone is protected.
With widening vaccination coverage, coupled with the combined efforts of health staff, covid warriors, and frontline workers, we believe we will overcome pandemics.” Not recommended, Dr.
Giridhara R Babu, Epidemiology and member of the State Technical Advisory Committee Covid-19 (TAC) said “not recommended” to depend on “only one” metrics such as TPR to assume that this disease has been contained.
Dr.
Babu said many factors such as health infrastructure and the percentage of older populations, in addition to indicators such as cases of death cases (CFR), vaccination, testing and inpatient levels include continuously monitored.
He said the genome sequencing must be increased to quickly detect a new variant.
The health department official said the test had become the basis of the war against Covid from the start.
“We do not reduce the number of tests even when cases are low.
We realize it is very important to catch an early infection if and when there is a resurrection of the case,” said a senior official.
Over the past few weeks, the country continued to carry out between 1.1 lakh and 1.3 lakh test a day.
As reported by the previous Toi, TAC, after the meeting on October 10, it recommended that the government reduce the number of tests to 1.1 lakh per day in circumstances, because the level of prisoners has fallen.
TAC members say Bengaluru must do 50,000 tests a day, while the rest of the carnataka can do 60,000 tests.
However, the government has not issued official orders on revised testing targets.
Officials who work on supervision measures say border districts such as Dakshina Kannada and Mysuru are at higher risk because of the high number of cases reported in Kerala over the past few months.
“It’s nice to see TPRs falling under 1% in the districts too,” other health officials said.
“But low cases do not mean there is no case.
Covid is still very much and people must follow the appropriate behavior of Covid.”
