JAMSHEDPUR: The LGBT community in the Division Khhan has urged the state government to consider them for the monthly retirement scheme of EWS (economically weaker) because they are in financial trouble in the view of the pandemic.
Amarjeet Singh, Transgender Clothing Secretary named Uthan, said, “Transgender pays attention to their livelihoods mostly by asking the train and by appearing on profitable occasions such as marriage, for example.
But now with passenger trains’ do not operate and marriage postponed / canceled because of Pandemics, not much to do to get money.
Now, even if people are getting married, they do it with a small scale and we often don’t even know them.
“There were around 200 transgender in three districts in the Division Koban.
Looking for help from the government, he added.
This clothing also asks for a permanent house under the Pradhan Mantri Beware of Yojana for Transgender, who currently lives in a rented house in a slum.
“The retirement scheme and a house under Watch out Yojana will give us a decent life and the community will feel empowered,” Singh said.
He, however, expressed his gratitude to each administrative official in three districts to help them get a Covid vaccine shot.
“In Jamshedpur, DC (Suraj Kumar) held a vaccination camp exclusively for us last month,” Singh said.
