Pune: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from the Pune Railway Station and raped in various places in the city in Maharashtra, police said on Monday.
Eight people, including six autorickshaw drivers and two train employees, were arrested in connection with crime.
Police Office Wanwadi Senior Inspector Deepak Lagad said complaints from missing people were registered at the previous police station.
“During the investigation of complaints from missing people, we traced the girl on Sunday.
The girl told the police that she was kidnapped and raped,” Lagad said.
The girl left her house on August 31 and came to the Pune train station from where she planned to take the train to meet her friend.
“The autorickshaw driver was accused of seeing the girl and understood that she was alone.
They told him that the train he was looking will be available the next day.
They asked him to accompany them by promising to make arrangements for accommodation for that night,” he added.
The autorickshaw driver was then suspected sexually attacked the girl in many places in the city, said Lagad quoted FIR.
“The case is registered under various parts of the Indian Criminal Code and the protection of children from the Sexual Act (Pocso).
All eight accused, including the Autorickshaw driver and two class IV trains, arrested.
Further investigation is on,” he said.
