Kolkata: The West Bengal government on Friday extends Covid-19 to 30 November with additional relaxation, one of which is permission for the local train to operate at a 50 percent seating capacity from Sunday – almost six months after the service is stopped to check the spread of the disease.
The government also allows the movement of people and vehicles between 11pm to 5 in the morning from November 2 to 5 for the celebration of Puja times, the official order here.
It provides similar relaxation for Puja Chhath on November 10 and 11.
According to orders, cinema rooms, theater rooms, auditoriums, shopping centers, markets, spas, gyms will be allowed to function with a capacity of 70 per cent from October 31, but no more than 11 nights.
“The local train movement between countries can operate with 50 percent of seating capacity.
All government offices related to non-emergency and non-essential services now function with 50 percent of their total strength (SIC),” the Order said.
Schools for grade 9 to 12 years, colleges and universities will be opened from November 16, after the standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the government, it is maintained.
District administration, police commissioners and local authorities have been asked to ensure strict compliance with state directives in Covid-19, their order.
