Mumbai: From Friday, resident doctors from all states will withdraw from all non-Covid routine tasks, including emergency services, to join national protests against delays in postgraduate medical revenue behavior.
This step tends to achieve health care services.
More than 1,000 resident doctors from Kem and Zion Hospitals have joined protests from 5pm on Thursday.
However, they will continue to work in Covid Wards.
Hospitals throughout the country work with only one third of the total strength of resident doctors for eight months.
With a surge in Covid cases, doctors demand the recovery of the earliest counseling process.
The Association of Maharashtra Resident Doctor (MARD), who called for a strike, condemned the police brutality against doctors who protested in Delhi.
Dr.
Sachin Pattiwar, President Mard-Kem, said the senior doctor replaced him in emergency services.
“There is no surgery called, but the resident doctor has stopped participating in routine tasks.
More doctors will join from Friday,” he said.
Dr.
Ramesh Bharmal, the dean of a large hospital, said they had started a discussion with a resident doctor.
“We can do a little about their main request because the problem is the sub-anim.” He said the OPD service could be beaten through a senior doctor to attend the patient.
“Elective operation must be postponed.”
