New Delhi: The first footballer given to the main award Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, India Maestro Sunil Chhetri on Saturday praised its longevity at the top level as an excuse to pocket the highest sports honor.
The 37-year-old Indian captain, who began his professional career in 2002 with the famous Mohun Chart club and made an international debut in 2005, received Khel Ratna from President Ram Nath Kovind.
“One of the main reasons why I got the Khel Ratna award was because I had played for 19 years.
