Gurgaon: The branch of the Gurgaon Police Crime has arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the murder case of India-Bangladesh’s border in West Bengal.
The man allegedly killed a woman in the South City – 1 in September this year.
The police said he tried to cross to Bangladesh to avoid catching but arrested only one kilometer from the border earlier this week.
He was taken to Gurgaon on Friday and was produced in front of the local court, which sent him to police detention two days.
The man accused of being identified as Islamic Safikul from Dakshin Dinajpur in Western, has been married three times before, police said.
He worked in the city and established a relationship with Nargis Khatun (25).
He wants to marry her, but he denied the proposal.
He was then suspected of strangling him and fled to his home city.
Khatun was found dead in the park in South City-1 on September 23.
After several weeks of technical supervision and human intelligence, the Sector 31 crime unit managed to track the new Jalpaiiguri District defendant in West Bengal.
Gurgaon police reached West Bengal in the same month but could not find it.
A team was again sent to his NAB earlier this week.
“We got informed that the defendant planned to cross to Bangladesh.
We have to catch him before he can cross the border, or we will lose him,” said ACP (Crime) Palwan Sangwan, as he added that the man was brought only 1 km from the Indian border-Bangladesh .
“We managed to catch it in time.
The delay of 10 minutes will allow him to escape,” he said.
During the interrogation, the defendant admitted that he pressed Khatun to get married.
On the day, they argue about this problem, and he strangled him to death.
He went to West Bengal and continued to change its location to avoid the police.
The daughter of a taxi driver, Khatun had left her house on September 22 to buy a milk package but did not return.
After a few hours, his family began his search for him in the area and then registered a complaint of people who were missing at the Sector Police Station 40.
A pine was submitted after he was found dead the next day.
