Chennai: A man who escaped Odisha after raping a little girl four years ago was arrested from New WasherPet.
The suspect went to his family in front of Diwali and the police traced his movements and arrested him in Chennai.
A police team from the Pallahara police station in Angul District, Odisha came to Chennai and told the new Washermenpet police about the defendant who lived in their jurisdiction.
A team together went to that place and arrested Sanjay Kumar Panda.
He was taken to the new Washermenpet police station, where he was questioned.
The Odisha police then took the suspect to Odisha by train on Friday night.
The police said Sanjay Kumar had sexually sexual sex and when he learned that the police chased him, he went down to Chennai as a migrant worker.
He worked in a bath in New Washermenpet for the past four years.
He lives here and does not reach his relatives.
However, Pallahara police who continued to track detailed cellular calls of their family members, found a random call to reach one of his family members recently.
The police traced the call to Sanjay Kumar.
Then, they went down to Chennai and arrested him.
