New Delhi: A 28-year-old man from Safe Vihar, who fled to Rishikesh without telling his family and held a kidnapping drama, was caught on Thursday.
The police said the man was under the debt of Rs 25 Lakh and had held a drama to get money from his parents and relatives.
A woman who helped her in forgery was also arrested.
The defendant has been identified as Shubham and his female friend as Anita who married Shubham colleagues.
On June 29, Shubham Sunil Garg’s father had filed a missing complaint.
During a preliminary investigation, the police found that Shubham was last seen in Rohini Sector 22 in a hotel.
Further investigations revealed that an anita woman had contacted her parents on June 21, stating that Shubham was in debt and he needed Rs 25 Lakh immediately.
“He also gave them five different account numbers where the number of Rs 25 Lakh would be saved.
Raids was carried out in various places to find Anita and finally detained from Agra.
During the interrogation, he revealed that Shubham was in Rishikesh, Utttrakhand and that he was in touch with Phone, “said a senior police officer.
Thus, a police team rushed to Rishikesh and Shubham was traced in a hotel.
“During the interrogation, Shubham said he had a relationship with Anita, who was the wife of his colleague who worked in the same company.
Shubham took money to pull and spend him for fun and enjoyed.
He can’t pay a loan amount and take another loan on interest To repay the contribution before, but it did not function according to the plan.
The total number of loans, therefore, rose to Rs 25 Lakh, which was outside the payment capacity.
He and Anita then plotted to extort money from his father by falsifying his kidnapping, “said the officer.
Both Shubham and Anita planned to settle abroad using the money, police said.
