Madurai: District Police on Friday arrested a 53-year-old man and won the fake currency more than Rs 11.6 lakh from his farm in Salupapatti Village near the Saptor in Peraeyur.
The police revealed the racket when they were investigating suspicious death cases on agriculture.
According to the police source, the police Saptur was told about suspicious deaths on a farm owned by T Pandi on Thursday.
The body of a man named Elango was found there and then restored by the police to be sent for postmortem.
However, during the search for houses on agriculture, police found a record of fake currencies of Rs 11.6 lakh in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 200.
The equipment used to print records was also found there.
The police confiscated notes and equipment and arrested Pandi.
When questioned, Pandi revealed that he and Ilango had run a fake currency racket for some time and claimed to print a note.
