Bharuch: A man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing his wife by injecting the cyanide solution into a bottle of drops when he was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city of Ankleshwar Gujarat almost a month ago, police said.
The crime, which was carried out by the defendant as a result of a marital dispute, was revealed based on a forensic report received by the police on Friday, almost a month after the victim Urmila Vasava (34) died while undergoing treatment for chest pain, ankleshwar city police office official said.
The FSL report stipulates that Vasava died when cyanide was injected into his body, which the police said were obtained by her husband Jignesh Patel from the factory in Ankleshwar, where he worked.
In accordance with the details of the case, Patel married Vasava about seven years ago, but their love marriage was damaged by disputes.
On the morning of July 8, the victim complained of chest pain and taken to a private hospital.
“When the victim was undergoing treatment, the defendant secretly took out the cyanide tablet and took out a solution from it.
He then injured the solution into a bottle of drops attached to him using a syringe when the doctors and other hospital staff were not present there,” the official said police.
The victim died immediately after the solution entered his body, and the police then submitted an accidental case of death, he added.
With reports received from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), which determined the cause of death was cyanide, the police registered a murder case against Patel below the 302 IPC section on Saturday before arresting it, the saying.
