Coimbatore: Police Kovilpalayam arrested a 24-year-old man on Monday for killing his 48-year-old father.
The person arrested was identified as P Subash of Devaraj Nagar in Keeranatham in Puthupalayam.
He lives with his father Palanimy and Mother S Janaki, 45, in their own home.
Subash and Palanisamy work for private companies and have taken 8 lakh loans from private banks to build houses.
The bank contacted them when they failed to pay a loan.
“On Sunday night, after drinking, Palanisamy took a fight with the payment of Subash’s loan, after Subash who destroyed it and slashed it with sickles.
Subash, who was very drunk, went to sleep ignoring the injured man.
He woke up on Monday at around 9 am To find his father struggled to breathe and notify 108 ambulance services.
The ambulance staff found Palanimy died and told the police, “said a police officer.
The police sent the body to the Medical College Coimbatore (CMCH) Hospital for postmortem and was arrested by Subash.
