Thiruvananthapuram: The officials of the Excise range of Neyattinkara on Friday arrested a young man with more than one kilogram of marijuana in his ownership.
Officials identified the defendant as Abiram aka Ananthu, 20, from Kalliyor.
The official said Abbiram was arrested at Balaramapuram after intercepting his vehicle.
They have monitored their activities for the past few days after receiving information about their illegal activities.
The marijuana parcel confiscated from him weighing 1,250 kg.
The catch was made by the team consisting of Excise Neyatinka Excise Inspector Ajeesh, Preventive Sanalkumar officers and Tony Civil Excise Officers, Ajith, Akhil and Stephen.
