New Delhi: The Delhi court has sentenced a man after he pleaded guilty for hiding Shahrukh Pathhan, who had fled after allegedly appointed a gun in a police officer during the Northeast Delhi Riot last year.
Pathhan was allegedly targeting a gun at the head of Delhi’s head Deepak Dahiya with “intention to kill” him on February 24, 2020, according to the police.
After the photos of these events became viral on social media, Pathhan fled and was arrested from the Shamli District bus holder at Uttar Pradesh on March 3, 2020.
He is currently nesting in Tihar Jail.
The police claimed that Pathan after escaping took refuge in Charneem Ahmed’s house in Shamli, they said, was confirmed by the location of their cellphone.
In accordance with the police, Pathhan lives at Ahmed’s house from the night of February 26 to 3 to March 3.
Ahmed has also helped the action accuse buying new cellphones, they said.
On December 7, the additional session of Judge (ASJ) Amitabh was treated framing the cost below the part of 216 IPC (hiding the perpetrators who had escaped from detention) against him.
“The cost was explained to him in Hindi in front of his advice and the defendant voluntarily pleaded guilty of charges framed against him,” said the judge.
He added, “Because the defendant voluntarily pleaded guilty of the allegations he banned under the part of the 216 IPC, therefore, he was held guilty and therefore punished for violations below the part 216 IPC.” The judge will hear the argument at the point of dropping on December 16.
The maximum sentence below this section requires a period of prison for seven years and a fine.
Meanwhile, the other five were accused of in this case, including Pathan, claimed to be innocent on charges and claimed trials.
The allegations of riots and murder efforts have been framed against Pathan.
ASJ took notes that “the intention to kill” the police were clearly made of statements given by Dahiya that Pathan leads to his head and was fired but he managed to escape.
Communal clashes broke out in Northeast Delhi in February 2020, after violence between supporters of the citizenship law (amendment) and protesters who spin out of control leaving at least 53 injured people.
