Karur: A 45-year-old man was killed after the crackers made by the country he brought to explode near Balaviduthi in Karur on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as L Kumar (45), was a resident of Mookkureddatti, Vaiyampatti near Manapparai in the Trichy District.
Police sources said that Kumar, with a bag of village-made crackers, was on his way to Gujiliyamarai in the Dindigul district on his moped.
The police suspected that crackers exploded because of friction after the bag touched the moped silencer which was heated when he drove a vehicle near Kuakkaranpattin in Karat Regency.

Balaviduthi police in Karur said that they were investigating to find out if he made crackers or he bought it from another place.
The body was stored at the Karur medical college hospital for post-mortem.
