Nagpur: A 35-year-old man who tried to calm two people involved in a fight dead by one of them in the Nagpur district on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Pravin Kathane, a resident of Parsodi, while the defendant, Ashish Suresh Gajbhiye (22), is also a local resident and has been arrested, they said.
According to the police, Gajbhiye, a construction worker, asked one Damke Sahil to pay money for the work he had done for him.
This caused the fight between them in the afternoon and Kathane tried to calm them down, they said.
Gajbhiye was angry at Kathane’s intervention and attacked him with bricks, killing him in place, and escaping, they said.
The police registered a murder case and arrested the defendant.
