New Delhi: A 45-year-old man was killed in a shooting incident that took place in the Dwarka court complex in Southwest Delhi, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Monday around 8:30 a.m.
and the deceased was identified as Swikar Luthra, which had a criminal background, they said.
A senior police officer said they received confidential information at around 11:30 a.m.
that someone, who died of a bullet injury, was taken to Rani Rani’s eyes at Uttam Nagar.
They received a Medico-Legal (MLC) certificate from the deceased from the hospital.
During the investigation, it was found that five people drank alcohol in room number 444 in the court allocated to advocate for Arun Sharma, the officer said.
Luthra is a client from an advocate, he said.
Luthra, who suffered a bullet injury on his back, was taken to a hospital by someone else who was present at the place, police said.
He was declared dead in the hospital, they said.
Of the five, one person died and three others joined the investigation, while the fifth suspect, who was an associate from Luthra, fled, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Santosh Kumar Meena said a case under the Indian Criminal Code Section 302 (Murder) and the provisions of the ARM have been registered and investigated.
The police said the state-made gun used in crime had been restored.
Police scan CCTV footage to identify people who fled.
Those who were arrested asked and the reason behind the murder would be ascertained after the defendant Absconding was identified and arrested, said DCP.
