Kanyakumari: A man wearing a Joker mask made a failed theft effort on two ATMs from a nationalized bank in the coastal area of Kankumari Regency early.
Video footage of efforts theft at Bank India ATM attached to the Bank Kurumpanai branch shortly after 1 morning was circulated on social media.
The video showed a young man who was built well wearing a jeans, t-shirt and black arm gloves, covering his face and head with the Joker mask, entering an ATM with an iron rod.
He was seen trying to open an ATM before he left the place in a while.
The Karungal Inspector D Rhenius Jesupatham said that the noise left the place immediately because the road was busy because of the movement of fishermen.
“The incident was not considered and the customer continued to withdraw money from the ATM until the alarm went in the morning after a customer kicked the machine,” he said.
The bank manager rushed to the ATM and he realized that there was an attempt to theft at an ATM and the engine opened when the customer kicked him.
After going through CCTV Footage, the Bank officially submitted a police complaint.
A case is listed below section 380 (theft), 457 (entered without permission) and 511 (trying to commit) from the IPC.
“The same person made an effort at another ATM from the same bank in Muttom – about 15 km from Kurumpanai.
The defendant uses the same bicycle in both places.
Separate casts are registered there,” Inspector said.
