Thane: The Kalyan Train Court has sentenced a 56-year-old man into a two-year prison sentence for two years to persecute and flash a female passenger on a long-range train.
The court, while passing the judgment on Saturday, was observed, “if such an incident is not dealt with seriously, it will endanger the safety and life of the passengers of women traveling alone on the train.” The first class judge in Kalyan Railway Court, Swayam S Chopda, sentenced the defendant, Muktinath Yadav, for violations (persecution) can be punished under section 354a (1) (ii) IPC.
The court ordered the defendant to pay for compensation victims of Rs 10,000.
The assistant prosecutor Jaishree Korde, arose to prosecution, told the court to say that the incident occurred on September 3, 2013 when the woman traveled alone on the Bhusawal-Mumbai passenger train.
He has boarded a train coach in Nashik at 3 pm.
The judge in his order said, “the accusation of taking advantage of the informant was alone on the train.
For terrible actions carried out by the defendant, he was not worthy of sympathy.
He could not be released under the trial period of the offenders.
Instead, he needed to handle by hand.
