Letter: A 27-year-old man was convicted of rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl by a local court on Friday.
The convicts, Dinesh Baisane, killed minors by hitting their heads with bricks when he bit him and scratched him while fighting rape on December 7, 2020.
The court will announce a sentence on December 16.
The Na Anjariya court, the second additional session judge and the special judge to protect children from the sexual violation (Pocso) Act Court, Baisane was punished.
“The prosecution has requested capital punishment considering the cruel crime and brutality involved.
The court examined 32 witnesses in just 10 days,” said Nayan Sukhadwala, district government government, letter.
Previously, the police submitted a sheet of 232 pages in court within 15 days after the crime.
The police said 69 witnesses and evidence.
Among the evidence, the profile of DNA victims and Baisane defendants was submitted.
The police also submitted the recording of four CCTV cameras where the defendant was seen with minors.
Scientific evidence includes blood stains from the deceased on the fabric accused along with a bite injury and scratches on the defendant’s body.
Among the key witnesses were a driver of the Autorickshaw and an employee at the Vada Pav shop, both of which identified the defendant.
Baisane kidnapped the little girl from her house on December 9 by luring it with the promise of Nurse Vada Pav.
Then, Baisane took the girl to a place isolated and raped him.
When the girl refused and shouted for help, the defendant was afraid to get caught, kill her.
The deceased has received training on ‘good touch, a bad touch’ at his school through police and NGO initiatives.
It is believed that because of training he tried to defend himself.
The two parents of the deceased worked as laborers and they used to dropped minor at home relatives during the day.
Baisane lives in a neighbor’s house of the relatives.
