New Delhi: A 36-year-old man was killed after he was accidentally torn down by a truck in the Burari North Delhi area on Tuesday night, police said.
The truck driver has been arrested, they said.
Kumar Mahender, a resident of Tikri Khurd in Narela, was on his way to his home on his motorbike after visiting relatives when he was under the truck at around 10:45 a.m.
He drove a taxi to make a living, they said on Wednesday.
According to a senior police officer, Ram Prakash truck driver (47), a native of Uttar Pradesh, brought Firdover Burari here only to realize that he was on the wrong path and therefore moved his vehicle back.
However, the rear indicator of the truck does not work.
Kumar, who arrived on the flyover, could not measure that the truck was moved in the opposite direction and ran underneath, causing his death.
Kumar survived his wife and three children, the officer said.
