The Marathwada Dam has enough stock until the next rainy season

Aurangabad: Aurangabad and Latur Regency, Osmanabad and Beed in Marathwada will not face the scarcity of drinking water until the next rainy season because the different reservoirs in the region have reached the desired level of storage, the authorities of the corporation of the development of Godavari Marathwada Irrigation (GMIDC) have said.
While the large irrigation project Jayakwadi crossed a sign of storage of two-thirds on Monday afternoon, most of the other main water projects of the region had overflowed because of the goodness of Monsoon.
The dam in Marathwada has a direct collective storage of 159 TMC on Monday night due to the capacity designed 260 TMC, official data shows.
GMIDC Executive Director Kiran Kulkarni said the marathwada dam has enough storage that can serve drinking water needs in the region until the next monsoon.
“The rainfall surplus across Marathwada this year has satisfactorily increases the level of storage in the dam.
In addition to serving drinking water needs, there will be almost problems in meeting the water requirements of the agricultural and industrial sectors,” he said.
