MARGAO: The deck has been cleaned for commissioning the newly built MARGAO-CHANDOR-CURCHOREM (SANVORDEM) route from South Western Railway (SWR) with the commissioner of the Train Safety (CSR) to authorize for its opening.
“CRS has ratified the opening of commercial services from passengers and shipping traffic in the newly built double line part of Margao and Sanvordem,” Aneesh Hegde, Head of Community Official, South Western Railway, told TII.
CRS has carried out trolleys in parts of the Margao-Curchorem which was tracked twice as well as a quick trial on the route, on September 23.
The train has recorded a speed of 124kmph during the trial.
However, CRS has authorized the sectional speed of 90kmph on the Margao-Curchorem route, Hegde said.
“The quality of the geometry trajectory in the new double-tracked route was built by high-quality Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd and meets all approved standards.
The official sectional speed of 90kmph to open parts is the highest compared to other parts opened in recent years,” an official Senior train related to multiple work on the Tietaighat-Vasco Swr project said.
Sources say CRS has enabled sectional speed to be increased to 100kmph depending on certain conditions.
For sectional speed to increase to 110kmph, the word source, the train is needed to look for CRS permits after compliance with certain provisions mentioned in authorization and after submitting certain track monitoring results.
“There are no bad comments in the CRS inspection report.
There are certain observations made by CRS which are mainly related to techniques, signaling and general parameters to run a safe train.
This must be fulfilled by RVNL, which is the opposite we do as a routine part of the lane operation and Maintenance, “Hegde said.
The Margao-Chandor-Sanvordem section is likely to be assigned on October 10, it was told.
