‘The medical team to be deployed in all Chhath Ghats’

Patna: medical team with doctors, paramedic staff and drugs needed will remain available in all Ghats ganga and in different pools during the Chhath festival.
Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) and Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) will also remain vigilant with theaters and other facilities to fulfill any emergency situation at a festival where thousands of worshipers visit different Ghats to offer prayers to Allah.
Patna Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr.
Vibha Kumari said the list of doctors and paramedics to be deployed has been prepared.
Every Ghat will have a medical team while the hospital will temporarily be set at three to four main Ghats where a large number of people participate in the festival, he said.
“While we have sent a letter to PMCH and NMCH to make their advanced preparations for this situation, the direction has been issued for the City Government Hospital and the Primary Health Center (PHC) in rural areas to be vigilant,” he said.
About 40 ambulances with medical staff are ready to be placed on an important approach to Ganga Ghats which is different between Danapur and Patna City.
Dr.
Vibha said when several people in the suburbs and rural areas now prefer to offer Arghya in ponds, lakes and other water bodies, the district health department has directed all its PHC to prepare their team there and prepare an ambulance.
“Even though the health department does the best to provide medical facilities in all places during the festival, we sincerely seek help from volunteers who present on different Ghats to act immediately in health emergencies and inform the movement of the medical team and facilitate ambulance movements,” said CS .
