The MIDC unit is closed to violate pollution norms

Nagpur: It seems there is no end of the dangers of environmental and public health from the industry.
In recent cases, the tip-off of the alert residents help exposes dangerous practices, where harmful acids from steel units and power are repatriated in the nearest water body.
This case is from Shilpa Steel and Power Limited, where the Regional Office of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has published the closing direction.

This is the second time the Board has taken decisive action against the unit.
“Also, the amount of harmful waste produced from the effluent processing plant has been found more than the amount approved.
The tanker used for waste transportation has no authorization of mandatory under dangerous waste and other waste regulations, 2016,” MPCB closing notice said.
In accordance with officials, the industry cannot restart its operations to the regulation.
“If they submit a re-appointment, the audience will take place.
Only if we assure that all compliance meets, we will think about the lines to let the unit begun,” he added.
The Board takes action under the relevant provisions of the water (prevention and control of pollution) ACT, 1974 and air (pollution prevention and control) ACT, 1974.
