Peshawar: The Taliban New Defense Minister has issued a rebuke to violations by several commanders and fighters after the winning movement victory over Western government in Afghanistan last month, said that violations would not be tolerated.
Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob said in an audio message that some famous “criminals and former famous soldiers” have been allowed to join the Taliban unit where they have carried out a series of sometimes hard violations.
“We direct you to get them out of your rank, if not, strict action will be taken against you,” he said.
“We don’t want people like that in our ranks.” A message from one of the most senior ministers of Taliban underlined the problem of Afghan new rulers sometimes have controlled battle forces when they turned from rebellion to the administration of peace.
Some Kabul residents complained of rude treatment in the hands of the Taliban fighters who had appeared on the streets of the capital, often from other regions and were not used for big cities.
There is also a retaliation report on members of former government and military activists or civil society, despite promising amnesty by the Taliban.
Yaqoob said there had been an isolated report on unauthorized execution, and he repeated that such action would not be tolerated.
“As you all realize, under General Amnesty announced in Afghanistan, there is no mujahid who has the right to take revenge on anyone,” he said.
It is not clear appropriately the incident he meant, or what drives the message, which is published on the Taliban twitter account and is widely distributed on social media.
There are reports on tensions in the movement between the Battlefield Hardline commander and political leaders who are more willing to find a compromise with the government outside Afghanistan.
