New Delhi: Driven by the Best Indian Haul Medal at the Tokyo Olympics, the government will expand the size and scope of the Target Olympic podium scheme (peak) to maintain 2024 and 2028 games in mind, the Sports Minister Thakur said on Sunday.
During the criminal program held for Triumphant Indian athletes, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) gave the Chopra Olympic Olympic champion with a $ 75 lakh cash award.
This is the first time, IOA offers cash incentives to the Olympic medalist.

The Silver Meerists – Wrestler Ravi Dahiya and Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu – Receive Rs 50 Lakh each for their heroism in Tokyo.
The Bronze Meerists – Shutter PV Sindhu, Boxer Lovlina Borghain and Wrestler Bajrang Punia – got Rs 25 lakh after their good show at the Olympics who had just concluded.
“I assure you that we will increase the peak so that more athletes can benefit,” said Thakur who was fun on the sidelines of the program.
Optimists, he added, “When such a function was held after the 2024 Olympics, I hope that medalists so much so there is no room left here (for them to occupy).” Every member of the Hockey Winner of Medalists became richer by RS 10 Lakh respectively.
The Chopra gold winner coach will receive Rs 12.5 lakh, while coach Dahiya and Chanu get Rs 10 lakh.
The coach for bronze winners is given 7.5 lakh Rs.
It was also announced that Rs 1 Lakh will be given to all 128 Olym Tokyo.

Along with Thakur and high-ranking officials present, President of the Narinder Indian Olympic Association (IOA), also praised the country’s athletes for their appearance at the exhibition.
“There is a lot of gloom and concern in the country because of Covid-19 before the Olympics.
But your performance (athlete) at the Tokyo Olympics has changed all that and you have brought a 1.3 billion smile in the country,” Batra said.
“You must be aware of what you have done for the country.” Chopra coach Klaus Bartonietz and Jaiver Choudhary, who introduced athletes to the Shivaji Stadium in Panipat, did not appear for the event.
