The Minister’s panel tends to deliver a decision on Pay Panel on Tuesday

Chandigarh: Representatives of trade unions who protested in Punjab on Friday met the Minister’s Committee to discuss their demands to increase salaries and benefits at the Sixth Payment Commission and the state government will now convey their decisions in the next meeting scheduled for 3.
August.
Punjab Sanjha Mansus Convener Sukhchain Singh Khaira said the Minister’s Committee has improved the date of the next meeting on August 3 where the committee is expected to announce the final decision of the state government.
He said the union representative on Friday held a meeting with the Brahm Mohindra cabinet ministers, Balbir Singh Sidhu and O P Soni and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot.
The main secretary of the Ministry of Finance K a P Sinha and the main secretary of the Department of Personnel Vivek Pratap Singh also attended the meeting.
After the announcement of the postponed payment commission, employees have protested throughout the country demanding their basic salary increases and recovery of slash benefits.
“Today we submit our request that the state government must ensure the increase in basic salary of employees in the payment commission using multiplication factors 3.74.
Meanwhile, the state government currently uses 2.25 as a multiplication factor,” Khaira said, adding that employees hope After a Friday meeting on a positive response from the government.
Workers’ representatives also told the Minister’s Committee on their requests to improve benefits and to provide family retirement facilities even to employees who have been recruited after 2004.
