The Ministry of Health provides 10 monitoring devices for TB patients in Palamu

Daltonganj: The State Health Department has provided 10 treatment boxes and monitor reminders (MERMA) to Palamu as part of the pilot project for distribution among TB patients so that they do not miss their doses and their supervision can be made in a real basis.
According to data, Palamu has 4,670 TB patients but many of which are said to be drug resistance.
State tuberculosis officers from Ranjit Prasad said the state government had launched MERMA box in the treatment of TB patients with drugs in drugs in only six districts, including Palamu, under the pilot project.
“MERMA box is a kind of tool helping to remind and monitor the warning of TB patients he is not relaxed by drugs such as any weakness can cause severe consequences,” he said.
Previously, the 99 dot procedure (direct therapy was observed) used for TB treatment.

Vijay Kumar Singh said that the new modular electronic monitor device also designed also allowed officials to oversee TB patients with respect to their daily drugs.
MERM box has a sophisticated electronic device with three flashing colors – green, yellow and red.
One Merma card box contains one month TB drug.
Green advises patients ready to eat drugs.
Yellow Light is a reminder to recharge MERMA box.
Red for batteries.
The battery can be recharged in one of the government’s health hubs.
He said, “It has been noted that TB patients after two or three months of treatment are inevitable disease and stop treatment.
As a result, they tend to be a drug resistance.” Asked whether poor TB patients needed a smart phone for this, he said, “it’s not mandatory.
All we need is a strict obedience to drugs.
