New Delhi: The ‘mission of India’s possibility will be launched at the end of 2022 or early 2023, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Wednesday.
The mission, was originally scheduled to be launched in 2022, was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
It aims to launch a manned mission in a lower earth orbit.
“We really can do this (launching the event in 2022).
We have planned that time along the 75th anniversary of Indian independence, but it can’t happen like that because of the unavoidable delay caused by Covid-19.” But I’m sure, maybe at the end of next year or maybe (by) early in 2023, we will be able to do that too, “he said.
Singh, Minister of State in the Department of Space, is handling a webinar on the future of the future of Indian-Oceania Space Technology Partnerships held By the Federation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) here.
He further said brainstorming exercises by government scientists and officials in 2015-16 helped them understand where space technology can be used.
“Space technology has a role to play, virtually, In each sector, “he said.
Space technology has been very useful in the field of disaster management, said Minister, adding that mood Eran space is also very connected in an effort to send three Indians into space.
According to the government, four micro experiments related to biological science and two physical sciences from selected academic institutions for unmanned missions from the event program.
Singh also emphasized the importance of reaching beginners and industrial players working in the space arena.
Speaking of Indian collaboration with ocean countries in the field of space, he noted that India has a “comfort level” with these countries which makes it easy to collaborate with them.
“Oceania countries such as New Zealand, Australia and Pacific coast countries can also collaborate (with India) and work on shared space technology solutions and innovative products,” added MOS.
Earlier this week, Anthony Murfett, Deputy Head, Australia Space Agency said Australia would support the mission of India’s mission by tracking it through the Cocos Islands (Keeling).
‘Mangalyaan’, the mission of the Indian Orbiter Mars, was tracked from Fiji.
